Conditions we treat

Anxiety

Everyone feels anxious sometimes. Anxiety disorders are different: the worry or fear is persistent, hard to control, and gets in the way of daily life.

What it can look like

  • Excessive worry that is hard to control
  • Feeling restless, keyed up or on edge
  • Muscle tension and trouble sleeping
  • Irritability and difficulty concentrating
  • Avoiding situations because of fear
  • Physical symptoms such as a racing heart or upset stomach

Only a qualified clinician can make a diagnosis. Many of these experiences overlap with other conditions.

How we help

Anxiety disorders respond well to treatment. After a careful evaluation, your provider may recommend therapy approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, medication, or a combination, tailored to your goals.

All care at EKM Psychiatry is delivered by secure telehealth across New York.

Self-check questionnaire

GAD-7 anxiety questionnaire

Private: your answers stay on your own device. They are scored in your browser and are never sent to EKM Psychiatry or saved. This is a screening tool, not a diagnosis.
