Disability services, testing accommodations, or medical leave
School or Academic Accommodation
Academic accommodation letters support requests for adjustments in educational settings including disability services, testing accommodations, and medical leave.
What is a school accommodation letter?
A school accommodation letter is a document written by a licensed mental health professional confirming a diagnosed psychiatric condition and its impact on academic functioning. It is used to support requests for academic adjustments such as extended test time, reduced course load, priority registration, or medical leave.
Accommodation letters are submitted to your school’s disability services office or dean of students office. The school determines which accommodations are granted — EKM Psychiatry’s role is limited to providing the clinical documentation to support your request.
School accommodation letters are only available to established patients with a documented treatment history at this practice. We do not provide letters based on a single visit or without adequate clinical documentation to support the request.
